Cecily strong
Cecily Legler Strong, born 8 February 1984, is an American comedian, actress and producer. She is also a singer and comedian. Strong is best known because she was a part-time cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2022. She's also the longest-running woman in the show's previous. Strong was cast on SNL while doing improv at The Second City in Chicago, where she moved after her graduation from CalArts. She currently plays a leading role in the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! (2021-present) and also co-produces.
Her other roles include voice acting on The Awesomes (2013-2015), support roles in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler, and The Female Brain. In 2015 she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first book, This Will All End Soon Soon, was published by Random House in 2021.
For her work on Saturday Night Live, she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Comedy Series at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.
Early life
Strong was born and was raised in Springfield, Illinois. She is the daughter Penelope Strong and William Strong. He was a chief of the Associated Press bureau and also had his own company for PR until 2013. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experiences as a nurse practitioner as well as working at several local hospitals. Strong's parents divorced. Strong was a child who adored SNL when she was a kid and reenacting sketches with a pal and watching the older SNL commercials on VHS. "I have a tape of the best commercials that i regularly watched. She claimed that Phil Hartman was the person who inspired her.
